Lets talk money

Let us begin to explore where the money comes from and where the money actually is expended visit this site.

  1. Where does the money come from for Creek Nation to   invest in businesses?
  2. What is the source of funds for the “permanent fund”?
  3. How was the “permanent fund” created?
  4.  Who was the brains behind the “Mackey Site” gaming?
  5. What Committee of the National Council studies the “business plan” before any business passes to the buy stage?

Work For The Tribe

In reply to One who cares.
new topic request

Employee performance improvement needed

One thing that Chief needs to do, Floyd and those that come next after him, is look at each employee for what they offer and the work they do. Many of us work for the tribe, not as part of the Floyd administration or the Tiger administration or the Ellis administration. We are there to work for the tribe whoever the Chief is. But when a new administration comes in we’re all seen as being part of the other’s group. Some of us aren’t part of a group. Some of us just want to do the right thing, work hard, have good service for tribal members, do our part to make things better. But that is not being considered when deciding on employees at creek nation. This seems to happen with each election. There are some people that work for the tribe that are really good workers and mean well. There are others that are there just to get a check and do as little work as possible. We all know someone like that. They make excuses why work is not done, they blame others, they think they shouldn’t have so much to do, they think the work isn’t needed because it doesn’t matter or its not important, you see them talking with others or on their cell phones more than at their desk working, they just complain when they don’t get their way. Other employees are in the middle, do just enough to get by and then lay low to not get noticed. Chief, please set a new and higher standard for employees, even those that may be family or friends of the administration. Each department should have a way to have evaluations from the citizens, whether on paper or online. I don’t mind if someone reviews me. I know I work hard. If problems come up, talk with managers and get things going in a more positive direction. Maybe its a training issue, maybe its an expectation issue. We expect more as citizens and those that are hard working employees, and I think we deserve it.

Community Clinic Services

New Topic Please:

Received a letter yesterday that reads: “effective immediately Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health will no longer be providing Community Clinic services.”
The letter provides a list of nine doctors and one clinic in Henryetta & Okmulgee for us to contact.
Do we have to choose another Doctor now? We won’t have a clinic in Okmulgee any longer?

Nation is well on the way success

A new topic was NOT requested, but I feel this response needs a new post generic for cialis.

The current elected and appointed administration of Principal Chief James Floyd needs and deserves the full support of all citizens.
The previous group placed in charge by less than .0075 of the current Creek Tribal membership made such a horrible mess due to greed, lack of ability and overall ignorance that James Floyd was faced with quite a mess.
Never should we allow such to occur.
Always examine credentials, education, work history, and overall personal habits before electing anyone!
This nation is well on the way success, but four years of numbskull administrative decisions cannot be corrected overnight.

Salaries Too Too High

New Topic Please: Salaries Too Too High

Has anyone looked at the new salaries for staff in the september paper? Salaries seem to keep going up. Do these staff members really have the background, education, experience, and skills to qualify for jobs with these high salaries here at creek nation? I think in many cases not. Anyone that is a SG12 step 1 $40,300.00 or more needs to have full disclosure to the citizens of their resume and background. In many cases they are getting paid more than they would in the federal government or private sector according to these new rates. These are higher than last year!!! So first year of new Chief, salaries are higher than last year with previous Chief. What’s going on down there???? How can we be paying people so much more money, for less qualified and less educated, and with a debt of $68 million plus???? There are a lot of SG12, SG13 SG14 SG15, etc. who are these people?

Creek History Repeats Itself

VOC: New Topic Please

Creek History repeats itself

From the July 2000 edition of the Muscogee Nation Newspaper
HOUSING AND TRIBAL EMPLOYEES ARRESTED ON COUNTS OF EMBEZZLEMENT
OKMULGEE — A Creek Nation Housing Authority manager and Muscogee Nation Natural Resources manager were arrested in two separate cases of embezzlement, theft and false accounts. On July 7, Acting Tribal Attorney General Jessie Huff Durham issued a criminal complaint to Muscogee Nation District Court against housing authority manager Gary Davis for the following counts: count one: embezzlement, theft and false accounts – embezzlement of “monies, funds, credits, goods, assets, equipment, tools, or other property belonging to the Nation…” The count also states that Davis instructed three of his employees —Ben Yahola, Brad Fox and Travis Whitlow to repair his home with parts purchased with housing authority petty cash;
The former housing director and possibly a relative of the new housing director? How is Ben Yahola related to Thomas Yahola?

From the January 1991 edition of the Muscogee Nation Newspaper
Excerpts:
Dode Warrington [now Barnett, Creek District Representative Seat B], 1990-1991 Creek Nation princess submitted her resignation in late November. In her resignation letter, Warrington wrote that she believes she fulfilled her obligations as Creek Nation Princess but received no assistance from the Princess Committee.
Warrington contends the committee refused to honor her mileage voucher reimbursements for trips she made as Creek Nation Princess. From June 15 through Sept. 22, Warrington submitted four travel vouchers totaling 3,3390 miles and seeking $813.60.
Committee officials said they did not approve all of her claims since some of the trips were unauthorized. At the beginning of her reign in June, 1990 she was presented guidelines and a list of approved trips. Warrington claimed mileage from her Springfield, MO., residence to buy valium online. The committee disallowed this claim since her presence at Council meetings buy valium online.
Warrington said she believes the committee has been uncooperative, in her resignation letter, Warrington wrote she had been taken advantage of and that the committee should be disbanded and reformed.
Warrington’s mother, Phyllis, of Sapulpa, was a member of the Princess Committee when the guidelines were established. Mrs. Warrington resigned from the committee when her daughter decided to enter the pageant.
Warrington has since married Steve Barnett of Springfield. She is a sophomore at Drury College majoring in elementary education and foreign languages.

Update: Dode Barnett didn’t finish her degree and is now claiming mileage for trips around Creek Nation. She gets a $47,000 salary and still trying to nickel and dime Creek Nation. Don’t be surprised when she shows up at meetings that she wasn’t invited to and sits on her phone throughout the entire meeting.

Say it Ain’t So……

New Topic Request: Say it Ain’t So……

Has anyone else heard that Jerry “the rat” Wilson is coming back to his job as Tribal Administrator? I thought we were trying to replace these pos not give them a little vacation until things got quiet and bring them back! One small step forward 5 steps back. I guess since we kept Brad Fox and Dan Wilson the 3 Stooges wouldn’t be complete without “The Rat”

Pipelines through Creek Nation

New topic request- Pipelines through Creek Nation

I have a friend who works for the Corp of Engineers and he tells me that there is a pipeline called Diamond coming across creek Nation. I looked it up online and it’s coming near my home. Who at creek Nation is handling this? Chief? This guy said he heard that the creeks are now getting rolled over and that no one there seems to care. Who do I call? When I was looking around online I saw another one that should be built in Alabama by horseshoe bend. Is anyone standing up for us? I haven’t seen anything in our newspaper or our website about these. What is our tribe doing about these?

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Okmulgee, OK , Did Not Always Comply With HUD Requirements

https://www generic cialis online.hudoig.gov/reports-publications/audit-reports/muscogee-creek-nation-okmulgee-ok-did-not-always-comply-hud

Highlights

What We Audited and Why
We audited the Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s use of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) funds in accordance with the Office of Inspector General’s goal to ensure
the integrity and soundness of HUD’s Public and Indian Housing programs and to follow up on
weaknesses identified in other reviews.
The audit objective was to determine whether the
Nation complied with HUD requirements when it housed families and procured contracts under
its Indian Housing Block Grantprogram
What We Found
The Nation did not:
(1) obtain HUD’s approval to lease to a non-low-income family,
(2) charge the non-low-income family the proper amount of rent,
(3) require a participant to re-certify her income and family composition,
(4) require a manager to remove herself from a conflict of interest situation,
(5) support the fairness and reasonableness of its contracts,
(6) have complete procurement documents,
(7) include mandatory clauses in its procurement contracts,
(8) collect sufficient income information for one participant, and
(9) maintain supporting documents for two housing inspections.
These conditions occurred because the Nation’s staff did not follow its or HUD’s requirements. In addition, the Nation’s payments and rents policy did not comply with Federal regulations. As a result, it could not ensure that it used Indian Housing Block Grant funds to provide safe, efficient, and affordable housing to its eligible citizens. These deficiencies resulted in more than $219,000 in questionable expenditures
What We Recommend
We recommend that the Administrator of the Southern Plains Office of Native American
Programs require the Nation to :
(1) repay $120,581 to its Indian Housing Block Grant program, from non-Federal funds, for housing not approved by HUD,
(2) support or repay $13,878 in uncollected rent to its Indian Housing Block Grant program from non-Federal funds, (3) revise its payments and rents policy to prevent undercharging rent, and
(4) support or repay to its Indian Housing Block Grant program, from non-Federal funds,
$85,380 spent on questionable procurements
Further, we recommend that the Nation improve its controls over re-certification of participants and inspections of homes and revise its contracts and leases.

Authority Board Appointments

Hope this comment will find a new post…
Called “Authority Board Appointments”
Should the National Council and the Executive office have to give at-least a 60 day notice in the Mvskoke Nation News and website on board vacancies….as we have seen over the last three council session a number of board seat have been confirmed like the gaming authority board and One Fire Holdings board and yet NO notices were given the Creek public about these positions. Should there be proper notices for all 80 thousand plus citizens who are qualified to put their names in the hat…mvto

Citizens’ Housing Payments

New Topic Please:

BUCKTROT ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING CITIZENS’ HOUSING PAYMENTS

From Mvskoke Media

There are 115 people right now that aren’t current.

I plan to issue a statement in the MCN newspaper for the citizens who are behind on their housing payment. Those citizens that are behind need to start making plans to get caught up.
All back payments needs to be paid by October 3, 2016. Any homeowner that is not current or have not made arrangements after Oct 3, 2016 will be delinquent.
Some people are a year plus behind on payments. Some people have already been to court. Several people already have had a court judgment and been told they are evicted.
However, managers have been told not to evict in the past by a HIGHER POWER.

Now citizens are going to complain Bucktrot is too harsh because he’s making citizens pay their mortgage payment when before they probably got it for free.

National Council, Principal Chief and THE CITIZENS are to blame for this because they want everything for free. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation isn’t so great after all.
