Simple is what I know about FUA's. It is like a lease agreement between the tribe and the community, after all, communities are tribal property. Community tells them what they want to do with the property, then the tribe says yes or no, always with language they have the right to take-over when terms are not met. The tribe tells communities what to pay for, and what the tribe will pay for. No big improvements or expenditures can be made without Council approval. Those are the main points. There are more. Tribe will always remind communities that the property is tribal, and the citizens are 'just being allowed to use the facilities'.
I'm sure someone out there will tell me differently, but this is my take on FUA's.

More on our corrupt Indians. Couple of weeks ago, the Tulsa World reported on much wrong doings in the Seneca-Cayuga up in Miami. As usual, it had to do with giving a lot of money to certain members. It's starting to look as if we (Indians) are tainted, that we're just a bunch of crooks.

In reference to the community casino frauds, this is what I predict will happen. The court will find them to be corrupt and guilty. It is then the responsibility of the A. G. to charge & prosecute, WHICH HE WON'T DO, BECAUSE HE HAS ALLOWED HIMSELF TO BE DRAWN INTO THE POCKETS OF THE CORRUPTED, purely for self-preservation, and as you state, 2 of our branches are now the criminals and control the investigations. Can you guess what those 2 branches are?

Tell me what are all these people going to do when A.D. is gone, all those whites just might be walking out the door and those whites in personel think that they are above everyone and look down on indians out there, one is always gone and no one is trained to do her job but she acts like she is top dog, her and her tag along can't speak or walk without stumbing because their nose is so up in the air, just because her husband makes big bucks and she does to what goes up must come down, the new chief may not want them there. If Kathy Guthrie is calling the shots what is pee wee herman doing? I agree Wage and Salary is a joke, look who is on there.What about the people that have been working for the tribe many years and then have to re-apply for their positions, how could they put someone else in that postion when the one that has been doing it for over 15 years has handled it all this time, the nation is a joke. Solution: It can't be soon enough for the new Chief election and Perry Anderson should be the first to go, then Sumner, McIntosh, Pee-Wee Herman, Qualls, Woody Anderson, bottom line is A.D. you have allowed these people to be the laughing stock of american indians.mt

I don't believe that it is only up to the Managers & Supervisor's, I know for a fact that Mr. sumner, McIntosh complained about the trainings that were needed, in fact I set in a meeting where sumner asked if all the trainings were necessary. Evidently the mangers, directors, supervisor don't think that the children are worth the challenge bowl. At one time the were so many people volunteering and there were so many schools particiapting that it was a real honor to volunteer but now it is shameful what everyone sees. Mr Sumner use to get on the phone and encourage everyone to volunteer and the chief even enouraged staff, all the chief would have to do is tell his Directors, supervisors, managers that is necessary, he is the chief after all.mt

This is news to me, and I am an active member of a community. Apparently such information has not filtered down to my community. Was it to be kept a secret by the AG and council from the communities? I wonder if redefine means we can extend boundaries into another communities' boundaries, you know like annexation, and make it ours?

what exactly is Facility Use Agreements ? In simple terms that someone without a law degree would understand.
Does this have anything to do with the AG and the council making the communities redefine their boundary lines?

NEW TOPIC PLEASE.
FUA's (Facility Use Agreemnts) are no more.

The National Council passed a law that did away with all FUA's.

FUA's made certain that the Tribe and the Communities knew what each were responsible for as far as the land and buldings were concerned.

The catch 22 that NC put the communities in is: No grants will be awarded to any community WITHOUT a FUA.

So now the NC must write an amendment to the law that amendended the amendment on the amended law to take out the FUA requirement.

Oh wow. Laws, Laws, Laws, Laws. ARE YOU DIZZY YET?

The NC took the FUA's away from the communities and in the same law ordered the Chief to renegotiate the FUA's.

The NC needs to write their own FUA's themselves and stop with the back and forth stuff.

REALLY???? Because I work for health. If you read the memo correctly, it states that the freeze IS in effect for health unless "it is a matter of health and safety". Having a shortage of health care providers is DEFINITELY detrimental to the health and saftey of those who use our facilities. SO, to that end, the freeze does not apply. ALL departments under health have been required to trim 10% of their budgets like everyone else. And who the hell in health got a raise???? We didn't even get a COLA adjustment, and were told not expect one next year either. Please feel free to cite your sources as you sound as if you are just grinding your ax minus any real ground to stand on.

To VOC: just curious, if someone did have documentation to back up their claims, how to they get it to you for you to scan in or post?
