I guess it was on George Tiger's FB wall - it was regarding comments made by Johnna, it read: "I was for another candidate during the whole election working as his campaign manager. I withdrew from that campaign respectively due to differences of opinion".
I was part of Jason's committee, from the beginning. The initial meeting was a lot of supporters and their families and volunteers, Johnna was not one of them. She came along later, I do not remember at any time that she was named as Jason's Campaign manager, by Jason or anyone else!!! (then wanted to be paid for it!) I will say she did work hard, as we all did. But I know that Johnna can be abrasive, pushy, etc..(we all can be) I just figure that's her personality and overlooked it. But the differences were we didn't do it her way, but she was not the candidate running. At the end she started sending out these mass text messages that were rude and uncalled for and everyone felt like pulling back from the campaign committee...she didn't offend one or two, but a lot people. Then she wondered why everyone avoided her!! She left once and came back, left again, then left again then jumped on the Tiger campaign at the last minute. The differences of opinion were that we didn't do things her way!! I tried talking to her and keeping in contact, then I heard she was bad-mouthing all of "us"...so now I'm wondering how she's getting along with all those Tiger supporters that she once talked about, ridiculed, repeated gossip about them and is now sitting in the middle of. How long it will be before she changes again and does the same thing to the Tiger supporters...I learned and wouldn't trust her again! But she hasn't stopped there, she was insinuating one of the girls made a FB comment about her. Then went on to get mad when someone else deleted and blocked her on FB and blamed me for it..I'm leaving her on because she amuses me with all her drama!! Reply to this

VOC, New topic, please (What can we do now?)
It's not over. The Nation's citizens are not helpless, thanks to the constitutional amendments. The citizens can also write laws and repeal them.
Amendment A-59 Amending existing Article VI: The citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation reserve to themselves the power to propose laws, and enact or reject the same at the polls independent of the National Council, and also reserve power at their own option to approve or reject at the polls any act of the National Council. The First Power reserved by the citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation is the initiative, and eight (8) percent of voters who voted in the last General Election for the office of the Principal Chief shall have the right to propose any legislative measure, and every such initiative. Petition shall include the full text of the measure so proposed, initiative Petitions shall be filed with the Secretary of the Nation, addressed to the Principal Chief, who shall submit the same to the citizen voters at a Special Election unless there is a General Election within 90 days. The National Council shall make suitable provisions for carrying into effect the provisions of this Amendment. The veto power of the Principal Chief shall not extend to measures voted on by the People. Measures referred to the People by initiative shall take effect and be in force when approved by a majority of the votes cast and not otherwise.
If the citizens organize, there is no limit to what can be accomplished. Any thoughts? Reply to this

i figured if i posted as the name you gave me you might actually post my original comment pryor to the one where i go by my name...JOHNNA...as i had stated I did start out campaigning for Jason...and I had a good job...I became unemployed during the time I was campaigning for Jason...he made me NO promises of a job...neither did George..I make my own decisions and as "opinionated stated..I can stand on my own 2 feet. I was NOT the only person who left Jasons campaign to go to Georges campaign because of things we saw and heard on the trail...as a matter of FACT..I WAS THE 3RD to leave it..lol..I will take the term "mouth of the south " as a compliment...it obviously worked to Georges benefit
With that said ...as for my employment status..I am glad you are concerned for me as you say you are for all citizens...

Just in case this person can't understand, "mouth of the south" is NOT a compliment.
Although I am a native woman, Frances Tiger is NOT a great leader for me. To me, she is not a proven product.
Why on earth did she have to hold your hand? Of course they accepted you regardless of your story and background. You are just like them. You are all the ones in glass houses, probably Creek supplied houses.

any credibility you MAY have had before was ruined when you supported tiger. if you think he will help our tribe continue to grow you aren't as smart as you think you are

You are right about her credibility being gone. As someone under another topic stated JT will bail whenever she doesn't get her way or doesn't get the most attention being loud. The thing I noticed most about her comments is how many times she uses the "I". Any psychologist can decipher that the same way we do. She does not take on issues, only attacks and calls names. She likes thinking she is important, instead she is simply a nuisance.

Lol, I like this reply. She and her whole family are this way. It's so funny how they act, not realizing how foolish they are. Now she's taking credit for GT's win for being the "mouth of the south"!! What a narcissist!

Why didn't Mr. Tiger do something before now is a very good question. What about Ms. Dornan, Mr. Proctor & Mr. Adams, Hanna is in their district isn't it? There aren't very many voters in Hanna probably.
The 'running of mouths at communities' takes place at communities with $$$$$. Most people are not interested in communitiy activities unless there is money or things being handed out.
Please don't forget Chief Ellis also 'signed off' on that legislation for Hanna.

I believe Chief Ellis did alot for the Tribe. His actions were for ALL Creek citizens not just a few or for himself and caused him alot of anxiety but he did what he felt he had to do to protect our Tribe. His biggest mistake was allowing people who were of Tiger's ilk to stay employed.
Keep track of how fast the Tribe's monies disappear when Tiger takes over. I wouldn't even want to work for Tiger because you can bet he will end up in jail eventually and those around him may follow. As someone stated before me...Tiger will go down as the WORST Chief in the history of Creek Nation!

Another comment has been moved here because it belongs here. Maybe it will help people understand Johnna Townsend.

I was forwarded a copy of what Johnna had said on a FB post,
I guess it was on George Tiger's FB wall - it was regarding comments made by Johnna, it read: "I was for another candidate during the whole election working as his campaign manager.

DANA JOHNSON - her court hearing starts next Monday 11-14-11 to pick the jury.
Better hurry and get it over so George can re-hire her as Tax Commissioner for payment of keeping her mouth shut about him taking bribes from tobacco retailers.
That is why we won't be selling tobacco soon.
All people willing to lie, cheat, steal, embezzle, take bribes -
GIT ON DOWN TO CREEK NATION IN JANUARY 2012.
THERE WILL BE A JOB FOR YOU. GIDDY UP.

Too true! And the sad thing is that will be the only kind of people he will hire because that is the only kind that would be willing to work for him! They better watch out because the more crooked stuff they do the more they put our sovereignty in jeopardy and then they will have to face 'true justice' and won't have anyone to bail them out!

VOC, New topic, please (What can we do now?)
It's not over. The Nation's citizens are not helpless, thanks to the constitutional amendments. The citizens can also write laws and repeal them.
Amendment A-59
Amending existing Article VI: The citizens of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation reserve to themselves the power to propose laws, and enact or reject the same at the polls independent of the National Council, and also reserve power at their own option to approve or reject at the polls any act of the National Council.

I see the Creeks as weak willed and weak minded. Look at who you elected for your chief. I had one of you Creeks say to me I bet you are sorry you are Cherokee. WRONG! I would not trade you my chief for yours. Soon you will be sorry you are Creek. And for Creeks coming together and facing up the chief and council? It will never happen. You are a tribe of sheep.

With all due respect to Pumaclw & nonemployee's response to the New Topic
#A-59, Citizens can propose laws, enact or reject. ....
How is this supposed to function ?
Didn't the NC circumvent this similar
process with : http://thevoicesofcourage.com/2011/09/30/past-nc-votes---who-dont-deserve.aspx
....?
Or do I not have a clear
understanding of what happened ? There
have been other occasions where the NC
acted in opposition to the will of the
Mvskoke people, correct ? Looks bleak to me !
Reply to this
The NC only delayed the "Special Election" in violation of the Constitution. As I recall, the Chief took it to court, who ruled and ordered the NC to fund the "Special Election".
Are you suggesting that the NC might fail to act, again? Probably, but still, they would be on the wrong side of the law as the Constitution is now written and can be taken to court. The citizens would win, assuming we then have a good District Judge. Still, the law is the law.
I didn't say it would be easy. That's where commitment comes in.

SAM ALEXANDER
The new Speaker of the National Council!!
Does anyone recall the legislation written and sponsored by Sam Alexander to kick anyone off the GOAB that did not have a degree?
He moaned and groaned for eight years about Chief Ellis not having a formal education.
What Sam meant was he wanted people with Criminal Educations and Backgrounds to run the nation.
The GOAB is as good as gone. Sam has wanted that to be controlled by one person for years. Now he'll get what he wants as Speaker.

We all know and expect the new adminidtration brings in "their own team".
Many of us are in hopes it is with the intention to provide improved services for the Citizens as well as over all improvement of the tribe. Not to retaliate against someone who George or roger thinks has harmed them. Nor as payment for a vote.
We will hate to see the disruption in services caused by job changes. We hate to see put in power for paybacks. Besides the problems it will cause for citizens it ultimately cause problems for george.
Reply to this
Don't hold your breath on that one! Tiger will retaliate against any who were against him in the election. And many more will be gone who may have just 'sat on the fence' so to speak. For all the promised jobs he made, he would have to fire the whole creek nation and start over to fill them all and then still couldn't fullfil his promises to some. He will put his family in jobs first, then his cronies who are most like him! Enjoy!!! Change is a coming! I think alot of people will think twice about voting for him once they see him in full action and in control of the tribe's money. There won't be much left if he is allowed to stay in power for the full 4 years. He and Roger need to be in jail....they should never been allowed to run in the first place. Someone made a statement about the earthquakes starting on the election night....shortly after votes were counted...maybe a sign?? (by the way there was a big discrepancy in the number of people who signed in to vote and the total number of votes actually counted). Makes sense since the election board and staff were all Tiger supporters.
Reply to this
Could that discrepancy be due to the fact that it is not mandatory that a voter make a choice for every open seat? Some people may have voted only for select positions (i.e. chief, second chief, council member in their district) and not completed the full ballot. That's their perogative.
Reply to this
Could be...I would expect a few but I don't think hundreds of people would do that. Can't say for sure but it's not the norm to have that much of a discrepancy in numbers.

I was recently informed by an absentee voter that they was required to vote using a #2 pencil. Now that process could be questionable. They should vote using a marker pen like everyone else was.
What's up with that?
Reply to this
good point! i wonder if flud and hicks had watchers at the absentee counting place or the polls?
Reply to this
Voting with pencil was also my concern. These pencils has erasers and can be changed to whatever the counters want. This method must be changed.
Reply to this
It specifically states on the absentee yellow card that you are to use a #2 pencil. Just read and follow directions folks. Maybe they didn't think everyone would be able to have access to a black marker and a #2 pencil is easier to get your hands on. Either way someone is going to get their panties in a wad wondering what writing utensil they can use. Why is it such a big deal?
Reply to this
The election people (non-tribal) say a pencil is better because the machine will pick up a pencil even if it was erased. However, non-black ink doesn't always pick up. So, if John Doe makes a mistake and erases a Flud for a Tiger it will show up in the machine as a double vote and not count at all. Only on recount will the counters be able to determine the voters true intent. In an election as close as the Eufaula mayor and the Cherokee Chief elections that gets worked out. Elections like this that have a clear winner? There's no need to work out those minor errors.
Sad outcome for the people but nothing is amiss with the voting system.
