I want to address Tiger since he has put out campaign materials BARNETT HAS NONE therefore he is riding on Tiger's coattails.

Then how while in college he was communications director for Kansas City Southern Railway Company and parleyed that into Hosting a TV show that was aired on Sundays at 6:00 am which he used to advocate for all Indians, then business development specialist for the Oklahoma Native American Business Development Center to create jobs within the Creek Nation, he also testified to state and local government regarding Tribe's rights, He puts members first,he is the voice to ensure the Tribe is prosperous.

Voters remember the Muscogee Nation News Volume 37, Issue 9 HEADLINES
NATIONAL COUNCIL OF THE MUSCOGEE (CREEK) NATION VIOLATES COURT ORDER, HELD IN CONTEMPT the issue was the Budget for Fiscal Year 2007 which would pay EMPLOYEES, KEEP CLINICS OPEN, FUND SOCIAL SERVICES and all the rest of our government THE NATIONAL COUNCIL LEAD BY SPEAKER GEORGE TIGER would not approve the budget and the Supreme Court had to hold the NATIONAL COUNCIL IN CONTEMPT OF COURT.
This is the vote to approve the COUNCIL'S BUDGET not the budget necessary to fund the Nation.
These are the current Council Members who voted YES TIGER, BARNETT, LaGrone, Fife, Wind, Scott, Ade, Quiet, Alexander, Willits and Green.

I agree with Wm.with the exception of Nichols and Green and this is why.Nichols voted for the raise the council voted themselves after the election in 2005 he received $3,000 dollars for his vote.I asked him why he voted for the raise he told me the council deserved it.If you had been at that meeting I know you would feel like I do you should have heard them complaining how being on the council took them away from thier families I was mad I told Barnett and Aide how SORRY they were.Any way thats why I cann't vote Nichols,he also claims mileage and misses a lot of meetings.As for Green she has always voted with the dark side she uses same mailing permit as tiger and some more.I'am going to leave that one blank.

I have to go for Nichols he is one of the most caring people I know. He helps alot of people when they are in need. He works full time and still takes care of things with his constituents. You are going on something that happened 6 years ago, look at his good points now. Jennings will not speak up and tell me something he has done besides follow AD around? Maybe he claims mileage but have you seen Shirlenes claim, all the time she was claiming she was living in Holdenville and she was going back and forth to Tahlequah until that got stopped. I also believe that David Nichols shows up for more meetings than alot of those that don't work full time.

Louis Hicks
New blood, both with great qualifications. Both educated. Both are complete opposites of Tiger & Roger.
Darrell Proctor: Simply the best of the worst. Dornan simply doesn't have the ability to serve two masters (MCN & Eufaula).
Mitch Jack: Good man. Cares about our people. (Speaks our language, a plus.) Good for those of us who care about our culture.
David Nichols: Has been a good rep. Has always kept the tribes best interest to forefront & is willing to speak up. I will keep in mind that he has made attempt to introduce Ethics & Campaign Finance to the council. (Killed in B & G by George Tiger)
James McGirt: Smarter of the candidates. Can be exasperating at times. Regardless, better than Ade. Educated.
Lucian Tiger II: New blood. Very good person and a nice one too & caring. Educated. He's smart & cares about our people.
Mark Randolph: New blood and young. A smart one too. Educated. Will be good and be so much better than Greene.
I had a difficult time choosing Proctor because he is a mute. But I just could not vote for Dornan. She just does not seem a bit Creek.
I have just recently paid attention to Mitch Jack and I am impressed.
Lucian & Mark are both younger, educated, and eager. We certainly need to start focusing on these types of citizen.
i REALLY BELIEVE THESE CANDIDATES ARE WILLING TO WORK TOGETHER, AND TO WORK WITH OTHER BRANCHES, WHICH IS SORELY NEEDED.

It is difficult as the Primary Election in some Districts has left the voter with extremely poor choices in the General Election. My choices are based on perceptions from what would seem to be best for the whole MCN. Sometimes it is difficult to choose between a persons character and their accomplishments. Sadly, sometimes the difference between the two can be quite vast.
I do believe that many of the present & past MCN NC Representatives ( and apparently some MCN Employees ) have utterly failed in keeping the best interests and NEEDS of the Tribal Members paramount.
Mostly in agreement with Wm, Bobby, Okmulgee Creek & Red.
Unless something unforeseen between now & November 5th happens, my choice will be to Vote for :

( All-around better choice for far too

( Barnett seems to be one of the
top 'good old boys' responsible for

James McGirt was on the Council back in the day. He is indeed exasperating. He was escorted out of the Council meeting and eventually impeached. This was during Claude Cox days. No one with this propensity for trouble can effectively represent his constituents.

Is this true about McGirt being impeached? I have never heard of that happening to anyone. Someone, give us some facts & truth. Lord only knows some should have been. Sorry to say, Ms Ade comes close. Do you remember anytime that she didn't side with George, Roger, Sam, Fife & that bunch? How could she not side with them when she is part and parcel of that bunch.
I remember when she took some citizens to court because they threatened her, and the video tapes showed thats not what happened. A liar just like George. Do you remember when she tore off information posted at her community? Because she disagreed, and her ex-husband was always there egging her on. It used to be said that when attended council meetings, she would look to him for instructions. Maybe it was he that liked George, not Shirlene!

We don’t know what happened in the case of Mr. McGirt, a former Council person who was purportedly impeached. The reason is we have no archival system and no one can refer to historical records. This job of keeping a running account about the important events concerning a society would normally be the responsibility of a free press, even that of the local newspaper. But due to political considerations, neither the MNN or the Okmulgee Newspaper is free to act in the citizen’s interest. Chief Ellis threatened an economic embargo on the Okmulgee Newspaper if they chose to publish a certain piece of information he did want published, and like the cheap tents they are, they caved. Other news reporting organizations are routinely shut out by leaders of the Muscogee Nation who refuse to respond even to requests for background information.
Americans occupying wall street are finding that freedom of speech and assembly is guaranteed by the constitution but still must be fought for. Citizens of Indian nations do not have such protection and can be abuse by their leaders who are safeguarded by their inherent powers of self government.
Indian citizens are not a free people. They are not free to discuss ideas and alternatives, free to teach and learn , free to report and to hear, free to challenge their government without the fear of retribution. The First Amendment has been the heart of the American success story, the torch of which is passed down to each succeeding generation to protect, and of which Indian communities, as a part of the human race, are not exempt.
By this time tomorrow we will probably have the full story on the slippery slope Herman is still clinging, but on George, probably not so much. The difference will be who has or doesn’t have a free press.

Now that Chief Ellis has less than two months left in his term of office, maybe you would able to convince the Okmulgee newspaper to print that certain piece of information. A two month embargo should not impact the newspaper if put into effect. It might even stimulate sales for a day.
As far as your other comments of Indian citizens not being a free people, you must live in a different county, State and country than I. I am free to speak my mind, discuss ideas and alternatives anytime I choose to. The VOC gives anyone with access to a computer the ability report and challenge my government. There is nothing that the elected officials the Muscogee Creek Nation can do prevent me from doing that. I do not fear the Chief nor any member of the National Council, they are just people who may or may not have issue with their own importance. I am a warrior.

Having worked in the same organization as McGirt I can believe that he was impeached. He was a smart man but a paranoid sceever who was unethical. He was fired in the late 1990's from Health for directing someone to take an illegal action. He seemed to still believe he was that Marine who would put down all comers. Funny thing is he reminds me of Shirlene's husband. Jim is just smarter than Don. Way smarter. They each deal with people in the same arrogant, bullying manner.
I dislike McGirt a lot and seriously question his motives. Tough call between he and Shirlene.

James McGirt was elected to the first National Council after adoption of the 1979 Muscogee (Creek) Constitution.
Claud Cox the constitutional scholar he was FIRED THE FIRST ELECTED NATIONAL COUNCIL because they would not do as his previous appointed council RUBBER STAMP his programs.
A new council was elected at a special election because there was no Tribal Court to protect the citizens and Constitution and federal judges said it was a internal tribal problem.
The Supreme Court was not put into place until 1982 at which time the government began to somewhat function.
Jim McGirt is a good person with an excellent grasp of the needs and responsibilities of a government.
He should be elected.

As others have expressed their disappointment of Alfred's choice to endorse George & Roger, I too am in shock about him. What position has been offered him? Will it be as a director, in the judicial branch, legislative branch or as an assistant to George in the Ex Br. I have to deduce that he has been biting his tongue for the last 8 years because it must have been hard for him to have to work with the chief and Flud. I bet he never said anything or expressed himself. In that same vein, I never once heard him defend the Exec. Branch for all that crap that was going on, even tho he was a part of that same Ex. Br. Too late to look back. There were probably other signs.

Have are so called leaders mistakenly used the word pray instead of prey. Lots of preying on the less fortunate and elders has been going on, but not praying. Please pray for our people. I'm tired of smoother talkers telling the weak and innocent what they want to hear and them

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I have no interest in "trading" endorsements. I am my own person with my own ideas and opinions. I have always been this way and will continue this way no matter the outcome of this election. I have chose to run a clean campaign and not get mixed up in the mud slinging. Perception is the greatest changer of our mind-sets. You were on that show, and it is a show for a single person, and it stands to reason in our feeble minds that means you are endorsing George. Alfred wasn't on G Tigers program, it was a paid announcement. Probably not on tribal time, it was prerecorded.
What's the difference? Barnett & Tiger both campaign on tribal funds, phones, time and what ever else they can get away with.
By the way, Alfred, George, Roger are cut of the same cloth. All three have lived off the tribe, whether begging, borrowing or stealing. They haven't owned their own homes or purchased their own vehicles.
What can we do about it anyway?

It is helpful that Lucien Tiger III came forward (in this Forum) to address the issue of statements that he is to have made on the radio on 11/2/2011. My apology for incorrectly listing the date previously as 10/2, when it certainly was 11/2.
Mr. Coachman & Ms. Ade could have done just as Mr. Tiger III did here, and addressed the same issue. Why have they not ?
@ Anonymous- I understand your position, but I also see Mr. Tiger III's position too. To focus the attention on George Tiger would detract from Mr. Lucien Tiger III.
@ A friend- I understand & agree with your position as well. Do we support or not support Mr. Lucien Tiger III because he is 'in association' or on the same radio program as George Tiger ? Should he be denied support because he shares the same last name as George or because he was on the same radio program as George ?

I had never heard of Lucien Tiger III until the forums. At first I dismissed him completely because of his name, but I also asked him if he was related to George Tirger. The answer again was an emphatic "No!". I talked to him at length and liked him. He is outspoken and articulate, which is good, and passionate about improving the Nation. He won me over during our conversation.

I don't know who started the rumor about my being impeached, and I really don't care since that person is a liar! It's untrue accusations such as this that make it difficult to select a candidate and I thought this is what we were trying to change this election. As I recall, it was Hill and Moore who were improperly removed from the council. No one was ever escorted out of the council.
Just for information purposes, some of the bills I authored and/or sponsored:
-Provision of bottled water for residents of Dustin when that city's water system failed.
-Funding of an engineering study to solve the Dustin water problem.
-Repaving the Lamar road in conjunction with Hughes county and the Creek Nation, co-sponsored by Nathan Buck, Jr.
-Authored the business plan and budget for the Holdenville casino which provides gaming revenue for the Muscogee Nation and created some 30+ jobs.
At that time we had no free laptops, telephones, mileage, or other "perks". We only received a $50/month stipend and if your travel and expenses were more than that you were on you own. I made all the community meetings at Wetumka, Dustin, and Holdenville because I felt it was a privilege, honor, and duty to do so.
So if that lie of impeachment makes you feel better, so be it. I stand on my integrity and sleep well because I know the truth.

I wonder how many of the NC Rep would run if it were $50. a month NOW?? I think most of them at least would NOT have anything to do with those positions! Those Reps get paid double of most employees that work 40+ hours. Yet, they want to recognized and photgraphed at tribal events everywhere they go and expect special treatment! Most all of them deserve to be voted out!!

Well I don't know you, but now I like you and you got my vote. You used your real name and apparently not afraid of feedback. This tells me that you might not be as easily swayed as others and able to use your own mind to make decisions. I respect your ability to speak up. I personaly think the council is underpaid right along with the employees. just my opinion. GOOD LUCK
