Are these people not qualified or not doing their jobs? I understand we want Creeks in these positions but are there qualified Creeks that will do these jobs? If the tribes would have helped one another in the past we would not be talking English and this would still be a Native American Country.

why worry about it? i am creek and work for the choctaw tribe, they seem to not worry about it. is your tribe that racial?

You ask: "Is your tribe that racial?" I take that to mean that you have relinquished your Creek affiliation. You don't have to worry then, so you won't be getting a Creek car tag, funeral benefits or any other benefit, but to those of us who will remain as Creeks, we are concerned about our tribe. Are your Creek relatives also gone?

I will and always will be Creek, with or without a card, i dont receive any services not even a tag, i pay what i have to, if a person can do the job it doesn't matter to me if they are red yellow black or white, get over your racist attitudes and you'll be a much happier person.

I'm so sick of all the bickering about 'Well, you must hate your tribe', or 'You're not a REAL Creek'. Aside from the requirements of blood quantum for leadership opportunities, why does it matter if a person is 1/2 Creek or 1/364?? It doesn't, rather, it shouldn't. The fact of the matter is, the Creek tribe is falling in comparison to other tribes. Creek Nation has the ability to rise up and become the best Nation, but it all starts with citizens, employees, and anyone associated with Creek Nation as a whole. One people. Working together. If this doesn't happen, then yes, things will continue to get worse, more fighting will occur, and the tribe will slowly dwindle from the goal that it should already have. And that is to provide CONTINUED service to all Creek Nation citizens, improve surrounding communities, make logical and smart investments for the good of the Tribe both for the present and the future, and shine a light to proclaim, THIS is Creek Nation. THIS is a great tribe, one banded together to accomplish these goals and working toward a great and promising future.

Creek Nation doesn't have the ability to rise up to become the best Nation as long as we have the crooks in power (NC). Talk to them because they are the ones clogging up progress, hateful, vengeful and refusing their leadership opportunities.
You state the goal is to provide CONTINUED service to all Creek Nation citizens which is true.
"Improve surrounding communities" needs clarification. Do you mean our own MCN Indian Communities? Yes, that should be a goal.
Or do you mean the towns of Okmulgee, Wetumka, Eufaula, etc."? If you mean the towns, that is not or ever should be a tribal goal. Collaterally, we do it in many ways, with our citizens residing in those towns, such as purchasing power & taxes: residential outlays, all types of shopping and buying of services. The Creeks contribute many dollars to the budgets of those Incorporated towns although I suspect they do not appreciate our citizens, but that's entirely another story for me.
The way I see, there will be NO PROGRESS until the legislators put aside their egos and concentrate on its citizens. All their energies are wasted on WHAT CAN WE FILE A LAWSUIT FOR TODAY? And when they do file, its usually one with no legal basis, which then the Chief has to file his own lawsuit to clear it up with a court decision. Or the Chief may have to file a lawsuit to legally get a decision against baseless legislation which the NC has passed. We need to remember all the lawsuits the NC has taken to court, and how many decisions they have lost. Either they like filing frivolous lawsuits or they have all these lawyers and a law firm advising them, and do just what the NC tells them, not advising on legality of it.
I know I have completely gone off the subject of your comments, but that's just my thoughts.

At some point in time, the Supreme Court (or even the District Court) is going to have to find them in contempt for abuse of process because of their continual filing of baseless lawsuits. They are trying to destroy the whole system of separation of powers set forth in the Tribal Constitution, and it's got to stop.

To Anon92 Your statement: ASIDE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF BLOOD QUANTUM FOR LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, means that the average "creek" citizen can fill any job they want for the MCN nation EXCEPT leadership positions. Sounds like your talking out of both sides of your mouth. you will never have a nation without equality. Spout your words about one banded together its sad.

I'm 1/4 Creek and worked my way through the managerial system at the tribe a while back. I was over educated and was relatively underpaid but really liked the work. I don't think I was enough Creek for some and things didn't work out. Our tribe has some issues in that area. I'm not griping about it. I'm just pointing out a fact.

So whats the problem with other tribes coming in and working for the Creeks. As long as they can make the Creek Nation prosper, then we probably need them. How many Non-Indians do we have now working for the tribe? How many Managers/Supervisors do we have now working for the tribe that doesn't even have some type of degree? These people that were listed, I'm sure they all have degrees.

If you ask me, there needs to be more whites or should I say non-Creeks hired at the complex. Maybe it would become a more productive business and the citizens better served.
A non-Creek needs to be hired as HR Director and maybe that place can finally start being run like a real business, where managers and staff can be start being held accountable for their work or lack thereof. As it is, one would think most of these people are working in their home or for their folks......oh wait some are - LOL

You are so right! Hiring must be conducted by a qualified HR team. The current way of hiring by department managers needs to stop,as they hire their friends and have their friends on the interviewing team. That's why departments are in the mess they're in. The new hires don't have the qualifications they should.

Cherokee Hicks been gone a while now. One person who needs to be gone is Lesaha Deere and who will be once the new chief gets his new administration in. She continues trying to hurt poeople with lies and lets out confidential information. She worked for Creek Nation before and was fired from Children and family services. That kind of person gets it back three fold

What about her assistant Mike Sands, he is a full creek citizen, and he also has an associates degree. He would be a good choice. He has been with the nation for a few years. Why not give him a chance, he cant do no worse that Cherokee Hicks.....just something to think about!!!!

Mike Sands was cheating on his spouse too. People are not always what they seem. Why do we need people like this to run our departments? If they cant be true to their own families then how do we expect them to run our departments?

That's not even touching the surface of Ms. Hicks shenanagins, acts that if anyone else done wouldve and shouldve been reported to proper authorities. Gossip - don't think so - ask her children. Why should she report her time just as the other mgrs she controls the time sheets. Fraud is fraud whether it's fifteen minutes here and there or fixing the books elsewhere. While Chiefs tied up trying to fix the larger problems some the mgrs are runnin amuk. Sumner can't run everything why not put Dellingers office over the upper mgt, someone who can see through these people.

that so funny and pretty ironic if you ask me. cherokee misses and says its because of her kids, but she doesn't even have custody. and mike sands, he suppose to be a role model for the kids because he helps coach at the okemah high school, and the ladies that he was seeing, get this....one claims to be a christian and spouts bible versus all over her facebook page but i guess she didn't get to the adultery section and the other one works for children and family, domestic violence department....if you as me she is creating the violence...funny how ironic that is......get your own life people....

Agreed that Lesah(?) Deere has gossiped, let out confidential information, and is very judgemental about others when her own life hasn't exactly been role model material. She has no credibility, morals or ethics. Out with her!
