  This kind of giving time is what representatives should be doing. This gives members the input of ideas, or plain just get things out in the open for consideration. I hope Yahola means what he has stated he will do.

  Is this the same Dana Johnson who is the Tax Commissioner? The one who verifies if one has insurance when a car tag is issued? If it is her, than she should be terminated because it shows how careless she is and someone in her position certainly should know better.

     For the most part I stay off this website since I believe that if it is such a "voice of courage" an individual should put their name to their comments. Otherwise they should keep them to themselves, however in this instance I felt an answer was justified. I did not want the citizens who do read these posts to believe that I would be that "careless" and not "know better" than to drive without insurance on my vehicle or to drive around with a suspended license.
     
     One of the requirements of working for the Nation is having a valid driver's license. Especially if you drive a tribal vehicle. My position requires that I be able to travel to smoke shops if necessary and I would be remiss in my duties if I allowed my driver's license to be suspended. I take my obligations as the Tax Commissioner very seriously and strive to represent the Nation to the best of my ability.

I have posted on here before a few times-not the ones about you but other issues and very afraid of their repercussion. Maybe after I leave and get a better job I can then use my real name but until then I just want someone to know what's really going on because there really is a lot if coverup going on at the casino from financial to hr to marketing to the gaming floor to our deals with vendors.

     A group of Okmulgee citizens is circulating a petition in connection with the proposal to sell the Council House to the Creek Nation. Within the city charter that sets out how surplus property may be sold is a provision that allows for a Petition for Referendum. when the amount of what is being sold is over a certain amount.
     
     The petitioners say they are critical of the decision to sell the “heart and soul” of Okmulgee, and that the decision to sell it should not be decided by only a few members of the city council. Petitioners say that they believe all Okmulgee citizens should have a say in whether or not the Creek Council House should be sold.
     
     The deadline for the group’s submission of the petition is set for September 30th.
     
     The City of Okmulgee recently reached agreement to sell the Council House to the Creek Nation for $3.2 million.

        I'm not surprised although I would NOT call our Council House SURPLUS PROPERTY legally. And I bet they really don't either, otherwise they would not be petitioning to keep it. How can they call it their "heart and soul"? They can't possibly have the "heart and soul". That belongs to us Creeks. Then again, they may just be posturing like our NC members do, only because, as they claim they did not have a say in the sale back to us.
